About the project

Enhancing User Experience for DSGV

This case study highlights my involvement as a visual designer in a UX/UI project for Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband (DSGV), Germany’s most important banking group. DSGV is the German association of savings banks and the apex entity of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, which is the second-largest financial services group in the EU. I was given the responsibility of creating an responsive and aesthetically pleasing company website with an interface that is visually appealing, user-friendly, and offers an enhanced user experience (UX). This project presented unique challenges due to the complexity of the content and the need for intuitive and easy-to-understand interfaces and illustrations.

THE

CHALLENGE

This project presented unique challenges due to the complexity of the content and the need for intuitive and easy-to-understand interfaces, illustrations and infographics. The content provided by DSGV was complex in nature, with numerous subject areas requiring clear and concise information presentation based on the existing corporate design. Designing a set of isometric illustrations that are visually engaging, intuitive, and effectively convey diverse subject areas while being easily comprehensible to users presented yet another challenge.

MY

APPROACH

Research and Analysis:

To better understand DSGV's target audience, I conducted thorough research and analysis on their preferences, behaviors, and expectations in digital banking. This informed my design decisions and helped me identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.

Conceptualization:

I focused on developing a design concept that would simplify the user journey, streamline information delivery, and create a visually cohesive experience

Illustrations:

To address the challenge of creating easily understood isometric illustrations, I utilized a comprehensive design process. This included sketching out initial concepts, testing their clarity and adaptability, refining the designs, and conducting feedback sessions. I ensured that the illustrations closely aligned with the user's mental models and were consistent across different subject areas.

THE

SOLUTION

I designed a clean and intuitive user-centric interface that prioritized the most relevant information on each page, resulting in a more streamlined and efficient experience for users. By incorporating isometric illustrations and cohesive iconography, I enhanced the visual appeal of the website while maintaining a consistent brand identity. Through iterative design and continuous feedback, I ensured that the icons were easily understood and effectively communicated their respective subject areas.
